The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of elemenraty school soccer team coach's leadership behavior type on group cohesion and players' satisfaction.To attain the purpose of the study, 321 elementary school male soccer athletes registered in Busan metropolitan city Football Association, 2002 were used as the subject. The studies questionnaire about coach's leadership behavior type, group cohension and players' satisfaction used the Leadership Scale for Sports(LSS), the Group cohension Questionnaire(GCQ) and the Member Satisfaction Questionnaire by Williams and Hacker(1982). It was analyzed by SPSS PC+ 10.0 for windows program. The statistical techniques uwed for the analysis of the study were one- way ANOVA analysis, multiple correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis.
tThe concluision obtained from this research are as follws: First, there is not significant differences in the coach's leadership behavior type and group cohension, but there is significant differences in the players' satisfaction by player career.
Second, there is significant correlation between the coach's leadership behavior type and group cohension. Group sohension has a significant positive correlation to the training and instruction, democratic behavior, social support, and positive feedback, but total group cohension has a significant negative correlation to the autocratic behavior.
Third, there is significant correlation between the coach's leadership bahavior type and players' satisfaction. Players' satisfaction has a significant positive sorrelation to the training ans instruction., democratic behavior, social support, and positive feedback.
Forth, coach's leadership behavior, social suppert , and positive feetback.
Forth, coach's leadership behavior type has a significant effect on group cohension. Group cohension has a positive significant effect on training and instruction, and social support, but group cohension has a negative significant effect on democratic behavior and autocratic behavior.
Fifth, the coach's leadership behavior type has a significant effect on player's satisfaction. Players' satisfaction has a positive significant effect on democratic behavior.
In concolusion, elementary school soccer team coach's leadership behavior type has a direct of indirect significant effect on group cohension and players' satisfaction.
