The purpose of this study was examining current conditions of literary activity types of websites for children's literature and at analyzing their educational consideration. For this purpose, we have analyzed ten websites that provided literary education to elementary school students. The websites for the study were selected through two methods: through a survey and by means of retrieval engine. This is because after a survey with websites children visited for literary activities, the largest number of them were found to 'use a retrieval engine.'The conditions of literary activity were analyzed using a tool developed by the researcher on the basis of the 7th elementary school Korean curriculum, Yoo Jung-ah(2002), and Kim Geun-su (2001), and a revised and supplemented evaluation tool of CSR (Children's Software Revue) developed by Buckleitner was used to analyze educational consideration of a website.
The result showed that all the sites in this study were providing literature-accepting activities while six sites were offering literature-creative activities and educational consideration of a website, there are shortcomings in interactive elements such as feedback, update date of the website itself, introduction of a writer of a work, selection of difficulty in an activity. Therefore, an educational website operator should make an effort to supplement such items with shortcomings.
