본 연구는 보호관찰청소년의 개인, 가족, 학교, 보호관찰서비스 등 재범에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보고 영향요인을 통제한 상황에서 외출제한명령이 보호관찰청소년의 재범에 어떠한
영향을 미치는지 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위한 연구 자료로 2010년 전국 보호관찰소에
서 보호관찰을 실시한 19세 미만 청소년 55,505명 중에서 보호관찰 기간에 재범한 5,186명을
다시 무작위표본추출을 통해 967명의 재범자 집단을 선정하고 이와 유사한 특성이 있는 비재
범자 집단 967명을 선정하여 총 1,934명을 대상으로 보호관찰청소년의 담당 보호관찰관이 작
성한 재범자평가표를 수집한 후, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 사용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 외출제
한명령은 청소년의 재범에 영향을 미치는 개인, 가족, 학교, 보호관찰서비스요인 등을 통제한
이후에도 재범 위험성에 유의미한 수준에서 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 이는 외출제한명
령이 없는 청소년이 외출제한명령이 있는 청소년과 비교할 때 재범 위험성이 43.6% 높은 것
으로 확인되었다. 또한 보호관찰청소년의 재범 발생에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 특별 프
로그램 참여 경험, 학교 탈락 경험, 학업성취도, 외출제한명령 부과 여부, 피학대경험, 부모 결
손 유무 순이었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 보호관찰청소년의 효과적인 재범 방지를 위해 적절하
게 개입할 수 있는 연구 자료로 활용하고자 한다.
영어 초록
The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of curfew order on recidivism of juvenileprobationers in case of controlling the influential variables of recidivism such as their personal, family,
school and probation service factors. The subjects in this study were 1,934 juvenile probationers under the
age of 19 who were put under probation in 2010 in probation offices across the nation. Data were
analyzed using logistic regressions. The major findings of the study were curfew order exerted a significant
influence on their recidivism risk even after controlling the influential factors involving personal factor,
family, school and probation service factors were under control. Second, When the control variables were
additionally taken into account, the adolescents who weren't give the curfew order were 43.6% more likely
to commit another offense than the others who were. Finally, experiences of taking special programs were
identified as the factor to have the largest impact on their recidivism, followed by expulsion from school,
academic achievement, the presence or absence of the curfew order, experiences of being abused and the
presence or absence of parents. Given the findings of the study, what kind of intervention should be
provided for juvenile probationers to stay away from committing another offense was discussed
