1. Purpose of this studyThe purpose of this study is to investigate the causes, levels and resolutions of the socio-psychological conflict of students, professors and employees in university campus.
The concrete objectives are as follows:
Firstly, it is to inquire what the degrees of the socio-psychological conflict cause level in university coampus are. In order to determine that, before everything the classified field of the socio-psychological conflict causes in campus life are supposed on the basis of theoretical study.
Secondly, it is to inquire what the tendencies of the resolution methods of the socio-psychological conflict causes in campus life are. In order to reseach that, before everything the resolution methods of the socio-psychological conflict causes in campus life are supposed on the basis of theoretical study as well.
2. Methods of this study
This study has employed both theoretical method and empirical method concurrently. For theoretical research, the references in concern both of home and abroad have been reviewed and analysized systematically. The findings in the research have been used as the classified fields and the resolution methods of the socio-psychological conflict causes.
On the basis of those, questionnaires have been made, questionnaire sheets were distributed to 1,000 students and 1,800 faculty--staff individually, and collected back 2,695 in total. The collected data were processed for analysis in accordance with SPSS. The technical procedures actually applied were Means, Standard Deviation, and t-test or F-test.
3. Conclusion of this study
The results attained by the empirical research are summarized as follow:
1) The means of the socio-psychological conflict cause variables have been showed highly according to order figure size in extra-campus problems, professor relations and intra-campus problems by student, and in extra-campus problems, student relations and intra-campus problems by professors, and in extra-campus problems, student relations and working conditions by employees. As the extra-campus problems have showed the highest figure size of all variables in the three groups, these are the most important of socio-psychological conflict causes in university campus.
2) The differences of the socio-psychological conflict cause variables by indiviaual features have been showed highly in all varialbes except intersexual relations in sex field by student, in all variables except intra and extra-campus problems in campus location field by professors, and in all variables except working conditions and extra-campus problems in campus location field by employees.
Therefore there are the differences in all variables except several of all individual features. Thus there are the differences of the socio-psyhological conflict causes according the individual features.
3) Students have showed the tendecies to select the persuading style in friend relations, university selections, major selections and extra-campus problems, and to select the collaborating style in intersexual relations, circle activities, professor relations and intra campus problems as the resolution methods of the socio-psychological conflict causes.
Professors have showed the tendencies to select the persuading style in all variables of the conflict causes except extra campus problems as the resolution methods of conflict causes. Employees have showed the tendencies to select the persuading style in communication, decision-making, friend relations and intra-campus problems, and the collaborating style in turnover relation as the resolution methods of the conflict causes.
