The paper I am presenting today focuses on the recent developments in British social work, in particular those that relate to the changes in social work education, and the significant and evolving changes in the delivery of social work in the UK at a local level. The case I am making is that whilst the New Labour government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tony Blair, has made some inroads into tackling social exclusion and social justicein relation to social work, there remains a considerable way to go to deal with these important issues.
