This article will explore to fundamental values of social work profession: social justice and human right. No one can deny the fact through the long history of social work, our profession has been inextricably related to social justice and human right. As an evidence of such solid relationships, the Code of Ethics for social workers proclaims social justice and human right to be one of core values and duties which social work as a human service profession should pursue and protect (NASW, 1996).Although a great deal of studies about social work, social justice and human rights are produced, they have failed to provide an explicit answer to the question of what the meaning and function of social justice and human rights in social work profession are.

This article will explore to fundamental values of social work profession: social justice and human right. No one can deny the fact through the long history of social work, our profession has been inextricably related to social justice and human right.
