The purpose was to determine the correlation between shoe type and changes in center of pressure when going through with a normal gait. We selected ten male middle and high school students Participants usually spend approximately ten hours in their school sitting in their chair. Using six Vicon cameras, we recorded the walking patterns along a predetermined set route according to three types of shoes including slippers, foam clogs and sneakers. The gait of each shoe type was recorded three times following conditions consisting of normal gait. Center of pressure displacements between foam clogs and slippers and the displacements between sneakers and foam clogs displayed differences in measured values; however, the values were not statistically meaningful. Based on the measured displacement of the center of pressure in terms of balance control, it was inferred that slippers are less stable than sneakers. In the case of foam clogs, we inferred advantages compared with slippers but there was no significant results in the experiment.
