2. Definition :
Gene targeting is a genetic technique that uses homologous recombination to change an endogenous gene. Also called replacement strategy based on homologous recombination (source : wikipedia)
3. Contribution :
The gene targeting or knockout mouse made it possible to reverse the genetic approach to elucidate gene function compared to the classical forward genetics.
Thus, it is "reverse genetics" that allows us to conduct the "gene-driven mutagenesis" in the mosue
gene targeting 혹은 knockout mouse는 유전자돌연변이 유발 생쥐를 인위적으로 만들어,
