Wrong Influence of the CSI Effect
The impact of broadcasting is huge that even though anything that is not true or perverts the truth is shown on the television, people easily would believe it. For example, C.S.I. (Crime Science Investigation) is one of the popular blockbuster television franchises that show activities of doctors of forensic medicine for unraveling various crimes. They usually investigate and unravel the many of circumstances which are mysterious death or a peculiar case of murder. On C.S.I., they investigate many of notorious crimes with high tech and new investigative tools, such as DNA analysis and fingerprinting. Also, the most of crimes is solved in few days although they need to discern DNA, which is unrealistic in a real life. Since C.S.I. has been being telecast on the television, many prosecutors are displeased that popular television programs like C.S.I. that rely on forensic analysis to solve cases have created unrealistic expectations and victims and jurors expect that identification of forensic crime would be done in few days.
