본문내용
Thelma and Louise confront two main problems; meeting Harlan and meeting J.D, Louise deals with Harlan as killing him with a gun, which starts the process of runaway. During the runaway, Thelma gets attracted to charming J.D and deals with him sexually which eventually ended with betrayal.
Protagonists’ problems are connected to social barriers or social circumstances they face. In High Noon and in Thelma and Louise, the conflict between individual and society is evident. In High Noon, this conflict is more severe than Thelma and Louise. Frank Miller is coming back and Kane is left alone, helplessness before his fate to fight against him. It is courageous act what Kane is doing and it seems right to be fight with him by his side for responsibility or ego or pride we do not know exactly. However, the townspeople are the social barrier here. They do not care about whether Kane or Miller will win; they are just observers in some funny killing fight. They make jokes about Kane, insult him in the pub, giving all excuses for why they are not fighting with him.
