1. IntroductionWhen designing a building, automobile, or aerospace, it is important to know reaction between structural members. A beam, which a bar applied loading laterally to its axis and one of the structural members, is classified as planer structures. When external load is applied to the beam, the shear force and bending moment occurs in the beam.
At this time, three-point bending test is conducted to know bending properties of Al 6061-O. Three-point bending test is to apply concentrated load on the center point of specimen that supported by pin or roller. Through this test, calculate bending stress and strain, and then draw a bending stress-strain curve, and then obtain the value of Young’s modulus and yield strength by using 0.2 % offset method. Also, calculate the shear force and bending moment, and then draw each diagrams according to location.
