In this term, Mansfield Park written by Jane Austen seems to possess a peculiar title which is the main spatial setting of the novel. However, this choice of title shows the vital theme of this novel which is the value of the conventional English society against outer radical societal changes. Further, other places in the novel as Portsmouth and the parsonage are also intimately connected with this preference of traditional value. In particular, Jane Austen relates the protagonist, Fanny Price, with the space appears in the novel by making the storyline goes along with the travel of Fanny. Moreover, the position of Fanny Price reflects her social and emotional status, further implies the superiority of conservative value of the Britain in nineteenth century.
