본문내용
Richard Okumoto, CFO of Electronic Scientific Industries found that some accounting sections of financial statements of between last quarter of 2002 and first quarter of the current monetary year. They have been made around the midnight which was one day before closure. The change in accrued liability gave accordingly a net benefit of $0.01 per share, rather than the normal loss (Lawrence, A. T., 2012).
The accrued liability of $977,000 was the cost of retirement and severance advantages to company employees in Japan, Korea, Taiwan. The organization needed to cut expenses since the organization started a shutdown of its Escondido office, solidifying its operations in Portland. John Isslemann, Jr requested to Okumoto forward to the chief of the Japanese office, Mike Tetsui, an arrangement of amended work rules. However, Tetsui answered he was never informed of the cancellation of their retirement benefits. Okumoto endeavored to clear this to everybody.
