본문내용
JIT
Zara often relies heavily on fabric sourcing, cutting, and sewing facilities nearly to its headquarters in Spain. Zara's growth was made especially by maintaining a huge amount of their in-house production, allowing them to cover 85 percent of the capacity during the season.
Will be described more in Question 2, 3
Lean
Using Inventroy Optimization Model, Zara never has accepted any excess inventory or deadstock in their warehouse. Its frequent replenishment and strictly limited amount of shipment make their brand image not to go low while avoiding the build up of unpopular stock.
This was succeed by quick in-season adjustment, from manufacturing facilities located close to Zara’s distribution center(The Cube). Zara ship more often in smaller batches. It costs more, but it enable Zara to chase the latest trend, and quickly get rid of unpopular items. In result, there was less unsold inventory, and more time to try different styles during seasons.
