1. Purpose
Lipids are a major energy storage form of life, and are a major component of cell membranes. It is also used for hormone production, intracellular messengers, membrane protein fixation, and transporter formation. It is composed of triacylglycerol and phospholipid, which are decomposed into fatty acids through digestion. Triacylglycerol, phospholipid and cholesterol are biosynthesized using fatty acids.
