On October 21, 2021, the launch of the Nuri rocket, which had been watched by the whole nation, ended with half success. Nuriho reached a target altitude of 700 km, but failed to enter the final orbit, falling short of the target speed of 7.5 km/s. It is regarded as a milestone in the development of the space industry in the future, as it laid the foundation for Korea's own space launch vehicle. The government and the Nuri development team are trying to identify the problems revealed in the launch and are spurring a tight development schedule to allow Nuri to enter the final orbit in the second test launch scheduled for May next year.
