Objectives
It is important to find convective heat transfer coefficient and calculate heat transfer. Because many mobile devices can be affected by the heat transfer, like performance of device or lifetime of device. So, in this experiment, we are going to figure out the method of getting the convective heat transfer coefficient (h).
Due to the large number of heat exchanger shapes and conditions, the thickness of the thermal boundary layer would need to be determined in each case. However, by means of the application of the similitude theory a dimensionless number, the Nusselt number, can be developed that considers the thermodynamic and fluid mechanic related conditions. The objective is to obtain a Nusselt Number and the convective heat transfer coefficient by simple experiments.
