Overweight and obesity refer to the condition of having too much fat in one's body. How much fat is in one person's body is measured by the body mass index, or BMI. The BMI is "a simple index of weight-for-height" that is commonly used to classify overweight and obesity in adults. It is defined as a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of his height in meters (kg/m2)" ("Obesity and overweight"). Overweight and obesity are not the same things. Overweight is having a BMI that is more than 25, and obesity is having a BMI that is more than 30 ("Obesity and overweight"). Also this can be taken to even more extreme.
